SIMRA Partners and collaborators have designed a Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) on “Social Innovations in Rural Areas”, hosted by Future Learn, a global platform for distance learning.
This course takes you step by step though a structured framework to understand, categorise, evaluate and promote social innovations in rural contexts. It includes theory, practical tools, and content from real case examples taken from different areas in Europe and non-European Mediterranean countries.
The course is designed for a three-week learning period, and it is aimed at anyone interested in innovation in rural development. This may include decision-makers, public, private and third-sector development agents, evaluators, facilitators, technical advisors, researchers or students involved in social innovation projects in rural areas.
The SIMRA MOOC had a first tutored run in March-April 2020 but the interactive materials and the online discussion fora are still open for those who wish to follow the course. Further tutored editions are foreseen for the future.
