NEL is a non-profit association which is dedicated to supporting farm succession in Austria. Many of the small and middle sized farmers in Austria have uncertain or no succession for their farms. At the same time, there are people who would like to start up a farm. The aim of NEL is to close this gap by supporting new entrant farmers and encouraging farm succession outside the family. To promote this topic, NEL is mainly concerned with awareness raising and public relations among farmers, potential farmers and other interested people. Measures encompass e.g. organising events and film screenings, participating in research projects and steering groups. A future project is the creation of an Austrian matching and information platform on farm succession.

NEL is raising awareness in the field of farm succession outside the family and new entrant farmers at regional, national and EU level and seeks greater public attention and resources for the topic. It collaborates in international networks and supports research with related issues.
